Project description
The aim of the Project is to strengthen regional cooperation in the water sector in the Central Asia region (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) and to promote awareness and use of climate-sensitive, sustainable integrated water resources management (IWRM) among the five countries. The Project will encourage political and technical dialogue at the regional and national basin levels, provide IWRM and managerial training to river basin organizations staff, capacity building and networking among Swiss, German and Central Asian universities, and promote joint initiatives for water managers of the five Central Asian countries at the micro- and meso level.
Expected Results
The project develops systematic, regionally coordinated approaches to climate-sensitive water resources management and thus, will contribute to increasing short- and long- term resilience.
