Project description
Follow-up phase of Regional programme for sustainable and climate sensitive land use for economic development in Central Asia
Expected Results
The project promotes integrative land use approaches and supports better management of forests, pastures and protected areas throughout the Central Asian region. In so doing, it takes into account the existing environmental, human, cultural, financial and institutional aspects of land use. The project’s most important measures are: It improves national monitoring systems in the AFOLU sector. It supports integrative and climate-sensitive land use planning. It promotes regional cooperation on integrative land use. It supports national designated authorities in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which serve as an interface between participating countries and the Green Climate Fund and improve access to funding for climate-friendly measures in these countries.
