Project description
The project intends to support the development of reliable and efficient water systems in seven districts located in 3 regions: two districts (Parkent, Yukori-Chirchik) of Tashkent region and two districts (Altyarik et Kuva) of the Fergana region (tranche 1), then three districts (Qamashi, Guzar, Yakkabog) in Kashkadarya region (tranche 2) . The project includes three components: (i) construction, rehabilitation and extension works of drinking water systems to replace the obsolete ones, (ii) a capacity building component dedicated to Uzsuvtaminot and the regional Suvtaminotis targeted by the project and (iii) the implementation of a gender action plan for Uzsuvtaminot and regional Suvtaminotis. This drinking water project is in the continuity of the five-year Uzbekistan State Investment Program for the Development and Modernization of Water Supply and Sanitation for 2017-2021. Programming for the next period is under development at the time of this report in 2022.
